Fishy fall weather underway

Fall fishing could be about to heat up with the change in the weather. Cloudy skies and cooler temps have arrived with rain in the forecast for the next several days. It may not be ideal weather for most fall weekend activities involving doing things outdoors but it’s the weather we’ve been waiting for on the Missouri….the perfect weather for BWO’s.

You should definitely plan to be here this weekend. Cloudy and 59 tomorrow with a chance for showers – nasty on Saturday with rain, highs barely breaking 40 and north winds 25 mph gusting to 36. Can you handle it? If you can it’s very likely you will be rewarded.

Flows currently cranked down to 3420 with water temps still hanging around the 60 degree mark and while the water temp will soon be on the drop it looks like these are the flows we should expect for the time being and for the weeks to come.

Prepare for your day with a stop at Wolf Creek Angler. We’ve got you covered with plenty of  KAST Extreme Fishing Gear to protect you from the elements including Steelhead Gloves and Hell Razor Jackets and hoodies. Piles of fleece from Simms, hats and gloves from Outdoor Research, Sonic Dry base layers and waders, boots and jackets a plenty from Redington.

Fly bins continuously being restocked with plenty of Zebra Midges, Tung Darts, Juju’s, LGM’s, 2 Bits, S & M’s, Micromays, BWO Magic Flies, Rainbow Warriors, Weight Flies, Psychomays, WD40’s, Hot Belly PT’s, Lightning Bugs in all flavors, Sparkle Minnows, Kreelex, Circus Peanuts, Dirty Hippies, October Caddis and piles of pseudo and baetis dry-fly patterns.

We’ve got the outerwear, the underwear, the bugs, all the rods, reels, lines, leaders and tippet and accessories you need and a bunch of other stuff you may or may not need. RO drift boat rentals, shuttles and even a couple of rooms left. One vacancy tomorrow and two on Saturday – full house next week. Guides available every day.

We’re currently walking that fine late season line of trying to clear product off the shelves so we’re not left sitting on it all winter but keeping things  adequately stocked for the winter season. There are deals to be had on Ross CLA and Nautilus FWX reels as well as on all the summer clothing we have left.

Wolf Creek and the Missouri will be a busy place for the next couple of weeks with the potential for amazingly good fishing each and every day.

We hope to see you in the shop and on the water.
