More than a few people have ended up here thinking this is Wolf Creek Angler. Our banner hanging on the side and the words “FLY SHOP” painted on the building probably aren’t helping but soon the words “FLY SHOP” will be gone and hopefully the redirect sign hanging in the front window will get you to us.
Someday this may be a place where we want you to stop but for now it is essentially a billboard for Wolf Creek Angler. It is a fishy yet somewhat strange little building with a great location. It lives in the minds of many as the original fly shop in Wolf Creek however this is not the case, as Montana River Outfitters opened Wolf Creek’s first fly shop in our present location in 1989. While it’s history prior to being a fly shop is unknown to us, the building was originally Dan Kelly’s Wolf Creek Outftters, and was later operated as a second location by Montana River Outfitters. It has been years since any fly shop has occupied this building and it is our hope is that we are erasing those memories of that shop by making our mark as THE one and only fly shop in Wolf Creek MT.
This isn’t to say however that you won’t see drift boats and guides and fishy things going on here as we are currently using the building as a guide shack during the season.
Our sign on the Interstate directs you right to us and our shop can be seen from the Interstate, day or night, like a beacon for all of those en route to the Missouri River. There may be an old -timer or two around who end up at the front door of the guide shack wondering where the fly shop has disappeared to but we are confident that our mark is being made and that the world is coming to know that the one and only fly shop in Wolf Creek is Wolf Creek Angler and is located at 515 Recreation Road.
